PREFACE

AMS (Accelerator Mass Spectrometry) is a powerful tool for investigation in various research fields including earth science, environmental science, archaeology, material science, life science and also nuclear safeguard. Data of rare isotopes precisely quantified by AMS often play a decisive role in these research fields and opening new frontier of the study. The number of AMS facilities as well as researchers concerning with AMS have been increasing recently, especially in the Asian region. Reflecting this situation, the East Asia AMS Symposium (EA-AMS) had started in 2006 at Tsukuba University, Japan. Following EA-AMS-2 (2007 in Korea), EA-AMS-3 (2009 in China), we here host EA-AMS-4 at The University of Tokyo, Japan.
